Tiffany
                                                      Poon

Tiffany Poon (born December 29, 1996) is a critically acclaimed American classical pianist, vlogger, and educational philanthropist. Born in Hong Kong, she has risen to international prominence not only for her masterfully expressive interpretations of Romantic and French repertoire but also for her pioneering use of social media to demystify classical music for hundreds of thousands of listeners worldwide.

Early Life and Prodigious Beginnings
Tiffany Poon’s musical instincts blossomed exceptionally early. As a toddler in Hong Kong, she would play along to Georges Bizet’s Carmen on a four-key yellow toy piano, inspired by her father’s extensive record collection. She began formal piano lessons at the age of four.
Recognizing her extraordinary gift, her family supported her audition for the world-renowned Juilliard School Pre-College Division. At just eight years old, she was accepted into the program, prompting a permanent move from Hong Kong to New York City. She spent eight years studying there on a full scholarship under the esteemed guidance of pianist Yoheved Kaplinsky. Poon made her professional concerto debut at age ten.

Academic Brilliance and Dual Studies
Unlike many prodigies who focus exclusively on conservatory training, Poon sought a broader intellectual foundation. She enrolled in the highly selective Columbia University / Juilliard School Exchange Program.
Philosophy Degree: In 2018, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Columbia University. She frequently notes that her philosophical studies deeply inform her musical interpretations and worldview.
Advanced Musical Tutelage: Throughout her higher education, she honed her artistry under the mentorship of legendary classical pianists, including Emanuel Ax and the late Joseph Kalichstein.

Major Concert Career and Discography
Poon has performed extensively across North America, Europe, Australia, and Asia. Her performances are often described by critics as profoundly immersive, physically expressive, and emotionally transparent.

Notable Concert Highlights
Global Venue Debuts: She has performed sold-out recitals at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Carnegie Hall’s Zankel Hall, London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall, Leipzig, and Paris's historic Salle Gaveau.
Orchestral Collaborations: Poon has appeared with major ensembles, including her highly praised debut with the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin playing Johannes Brahms.

Acclaimed Discography
Natural Beauty (2014): A teenage debut album showcasing works by Bach, Haydn, Chopin, Liszt, and Debussy.
Diaries: Schumann (February 2024): Released under the Pentatone label, this concept album explored themes of growth and inner psychology. It achieved immense commercial success, charting No. 1 on Billboard’s Traditional Classical Album chart and Apple Music Classical across four continents.
Nature (2025): A critically lauded album focusing on the evocative power of French classical music (including Rameau, Debussy, and Ravel) to capture the natural world.

Awards and Honors
Poon's contributions to the classical canon have received significant institutional praise:
•  Robert Schumann Prize (2025): Granted by the City of Zwickau, this prestigious award honored her distinct contribution to Robert Schumann’s legacy both on the concert stage and through digital innovation.
Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist: An honor acknowledging her artistic excellence and commitment to community engagement.

Digital Pioneering and Non-Profit Work
Poon has completely redefined what it means to be a 21st-century classical musician by tearing down the invisible wall between the performer and the
The Classical Vlogger: Starting in 2017, Poon began uploading raw, honest "day-in-the-life" vlogs to YouTube. Rather than just sharing polished final performances, she chronicles the grueling, unglamorous aspects of musicianship—such as practicing a single complex passage for hours or dealing with pre-concert nerves. Her Official YouTube Channel boasts over 320,000 subscribers and tens of millions of views.
Together With Classical: In 2020, she founded the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization Together With Classical. The charity is dedicated to supporting music students globally, diversifying audiences, and uniting a global community through a shared love of classical music.
